Political Science [POL courses - includes JHP, JPD, JPF, JPJ, JPP and JPR]

The following timetable information is the most current information available since the publication of the 2011-2012 Registration Handbook. Courses and meeting sections added will be listed below. Courses and meeting sections cancelled will be indicated as such.

Prerequisites and Exclusions: All POL 100-series courses are mutually exclusive. Students enrolled in more than one of these courses (or who have previously completed a POL 100-series course with a grade of at least 50%) will be removed at any time they are discovered.
Prerequisites and exclusions are enforced for all 2nd, 3rd and 4th year courses. Please consult the Faculty of Arts and Science Calendar or Undergraduate POL website for details. Students will be removed if they do not have the proper prerequisite or permission from the instructor. Students who complete a prerequisite at another institution MUST submit a transcript directly to the Undergraduate Office, SSH 3027 before enrolling in the course. Failure to do so may result in removal from the course.

Tutorials: In courses where applicable, tutorials will be arranged after classes commence.

Registration - 400-level courses ('P' and ‘P*’ indicator):
For all 400-level courses with a 'P' and ‘P*’ indicator, enrolment is limited. Nearly all courses are offered as joint undergraduate-graduate seminars with class sizes ranging from 15-25. Students who meet the Department's enrolment controls must enrol via ROSI between July 5 - August 3.

Due to significant enrolment pressure on 4th year seminars, during the St. George Campus round of enrolment, students who enrol in more than the required number of POL courses needed for the program may be removed from the additional 400-level courses (i.e., Specialists require 1.0 FCEs; Majors require 0.5 FCEs).

Students enrolled in 400-level courses must attend the first seminar, or contact the instructor to explain their absence. Failure to do so may result in removal from the course.

For 'E' indicator courses: contact the Student and Alumni/Advancement Coordinator, Elizabeth Jagdeo at e.jagdeo@utoronto.ca for details.

Cancellation: 'E' indicator courses: Students who wish to cancel E indicator courses must go to their college registrar's office or complete a course cancellation form available in the Undergraduate office, SSH 3027.
