FRENCH [FRE courses - includes FSL]
Students may only register in the course(s) for which they have the stated prerequisites. For language (FSL) courses, first-time students must register in the course recommended by the Department's Placement Test (www.lang.utoronto.ca/placement/french/). The test must be taken prior to registration and before the beginning of classes in any given term. Please allow three to five working days to obtain the test results. Note that since 100, 200, 300 and 400-level FSL courses correspond to levels of competence in French, students may be recommended to take a course at a level higher than their year of study. Students who do not have access a computer capable of managing sound files should write to french.placement@utoronto.ca and make an appointment to take the test at the Department of French.
For FSL100H1: students will also enrol in T0101, T0201, T5101 or T5201 an on-line tutorial, more information will be provided at the first lecture meeting.
For FSL102H1: students will also enrol in T0101, T0201, T5101 or T5201, an on-line tutorial, more information will be provided at the first lecture meeting.
For 'E' indicator courses (FRE490Y1,491H1/492H1): students should obtain applications at the Department of French, Room 226, 50 St. Joseph Street. Alternatively, they may download the application from, www.french.utoronto.ca/courses/145. Forms must be returned by return by April 8, 2011.
